Job description

Established in 2009, TAT began with a simple, yet powerful, belief: every truck driver can be a crucial ally in the fight against human trafficking. Today, TAT is an international, non-profit organization that educates, equips, empowers and mobilizes members of key industries and agencies to combat human trafficking. To accomplish its mission, TAT partners with the trucking, truck stop, motorcoach, transit, school transportation and energy industries, as well as law enforcement and government agencies throughout North America, to activate their workforces to prevent and disrupt human trafficking. To date, TAT has trained over 2.6 million people and established public and private sector partnerships in 50 U.S. states and eight Canadian provinces and territories. TAT works alongside industry leaders, who become force multipliers to spread awareness about human trafficking to their employees and within the communities in which they live and work. About This Role TAT is seeking a passionate program manager to lead the next phase of its award-winning Youth on Transportation (YOT) Initiative. Launched in mid-2023, YOT helps to protect youth from trafficking and exploitation as they move throughout their days by i) delivering human trafficking training to school transportation and public transit providers; ii) facilitating local collaboration in target communities by convening key public and private partners; and iii) educating youth and caregivers about human trafficking to help youth learn how to protect themselves and their peers. This is a new position TAT is creating in order to build off of the success and momentum of the first phase of YOT. The Youth on Transportation Program Manager will join a dynamic team of passionate, dedicated and hardworking individuals who advance anti-trafficking initiatives within the transportation industry. Experience in schools and/or school transportation or working directly with youth is a plus but not required. Integrity, empathy and the inclination to be a team player are essential. Core Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with school transportation providers in the U.S. and work closely with TAT’s Canada Program Manager to reach school transportation providers in Canada. Travel and attend school transportation industry events throughout the U.S. to share information about TAT’s programs, free training resources and engagement opportunities. Events may include conferences, in-services, etc., with TAT’s role typically involving public speaking and/or managing a booth. Present on webinars and participate in virtual meetings with partners and prospects. Create and distribute Quarterly Learning Engagements (QLEs) to TAT’s school transportation and transit partners. QLEs are digital resources designed to provide TAT-trained professionals with continuing education. Work alongside school transportation and transit providers to expand training, facilitate collaboration and enhance awareness of human trafficking. Coordinate with other TAT staff to leverage TAT’s youth- and school- focused programs and resources to deepen engagement with public and private sector partners across industries and sectors. Attend YOT Coalition Builds to provide coordination assistance, meet and engage with industry stakeholders and present on human trafficking, exploitation and youth safety. Follow up with the school transportation and transit representatives in attendance to facilitate ongoing local collaboration and guide them through their next steps with TAT. Coordinate Youth on Transportation Safety Month each May. Recruit partners in school transportation and transit to participate in YOT Safety Month. Collaborate with other TAT programs to promote YOT Safety Month and recruit TAT’s public and private sector partners to participate. Manage YOT Safety Month materials and create co-branded/customized resources for partners as needed. Track partner participation during YOT Safety Month and follow up with all participants after the campaign is completed. Track impact data to measure program growth and effectiveness against pre-determined benchmarks for quarterly and annual reports, as well as for reports to donors. Input and track relevant partnership data, progress and outcomes in Salesforce. Develop and retain a portfolio of donors (corporate, foundation and individuals) to sustain and expand TAT’s reach and impact. Other duties that arise as the YOT Initiative continues to evolve and expand. Required Qualifications A strong dedication to combating human trafficking. Knowledge of human trafficking in the U.S. and youth vulnerabilities. A desire for longevity with the organization. Strong communication skills. Adaptability and curiosity. Program management, coordination and strategic-thinking abilities. Exceptional public speaking skills. Strong writing skills, including attention to detail. Keen ability to build relationships, follow up on opportunities and grow partnerships. Enthusiasm for travel and ability to travel up to 20% of the time. (Proximity to a major airport is preferred). Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, organize tasks and priorities, work on a variety of projects involving a variety of people, coordinate and keep track of multiple details and solve problems successfully. Advanced skills with Google products, as well as the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. High initiative, ability to self-start and work independently devoid of office setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Salesforce preferred. Experience and/or interest in light graphic design (e.g., Canva) preferred. Please note the selected candidate will be required to submit to a criminal records check.
