1. We ask the employer, not another job board

Most listings link to the employer's own hiring system: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters, Workable, BambooHR, Personio, Recruitee or Breezy. Every morning we ask that system directly whether each role is still open. If the employer has closed it, we take it down the same day. 1,918 of today's 3,350 roles were confirmed this way, and those pages say so with the date of the check.

2. Remote means remote

When the employer's own system marks a role as on-site or hybrid, we take it down, even if another job board called it remote. Hybrid roles stay only when the employer also lists a remote location. This week that removed 346 listings.

3. When a source drops a listing, so do we

Some roles come from curated impact job boards such as 80,000 Hours, Probably Good, Climatebase, Idealist and ReliefWeb. We read their full lists several times a day. When a listing disappears from its source for two days, we take it down; if it comes back, so does the listing. Nothing stays up for more than 30 days without being seen again.

4. Employers, not agencies

We list roles at organizations working on climate, global health, AI safety, animal welfare and other public-interest problems. We remove staffing agencies, job resellers and companies without a clear mission, and we only pull roles directly from employer boards when a curated impact source has listed that employer first.

5. What we can't promise

A role can close between our morning check and your application, and some smaller employers use systems we can't query yet; those pages say "Last seen in the source feed" instead of "Confirmed open". Always read the employer's own page before you apply.
