Job description

Established in 2009, TAT began with a simple, yet powerful, belief: every truck driver can be a crucial ally in the fight against human trafficking. Today, TAT is an international, non-profit organization that educates, equips, empowers and mobilizes members of key industries and agencies to combat human trafficking. To accomplish its mission, TAT partners with the trucking, truck stop, motorcoach, transit, school transportation and energy industries, as well as law enforcement and government agencies throughout North America, to activate their workforces to prevent and disrupt human trafficking. To date, TAT has trained over 2.6 million people and established public and private sector partnerships in 50 U.S. states and eight Canadian provinces and territories. TAT works alongside industry leaders, who become force multipliers to spread awareness about human trafficking to their employees and within the communities in which they live and work. About This Role TAT’s new Director of Industry Outreach will play a critical leadership role in expanding TAT’s impact across North America in the trucking industry. TAT is seeking someone with proven partnership development experience who is adept at strategic thinking, public speaking, impact tracking and relationship and program management. The Director of Industry Outreach will join a dynamic team of passionate, dedicated and hardworking individuals who advance anti-trafficking initiatives within the transportation industry. Industry experience is a plus but not required. Integrity, empathy, and the inclination to be a team player are desired. The trucking industry program was TAT’s first program and remains its largest segment of transportation that is activated on combatting human trafficking. This requires a strong team of dedicated professionals to continue to lead the multitude of segments within the trucking industry---companies, associations, dealerships, manufacturers, insurers—towards effective and activated work in disrupting human trafficking across America’s roadways. The Director of Industry Outreach will recruit new partners for TAT, manage and grow a portfolio of partners and corporate sponsors, develop driver-facing campaigns, represent TAT at large industry events, and strategize with team members about scaling TAT’s impact and reach across North America. Core Responsibilities Travel nationally to exhibit, train, present and meet with stakeholders, and share about TAT’s programs and involvement options. Events may include conferences, association events, safety meetings, industry-wide events, private corporate events, and trade shows. Cultivate and maintain high-level partnerships with industry representatives in the United States. Coordinate with leaders within key segments of the trucking industry on ways their companies and/or networks can combat human trafficking. Expand partnership opportunities and engagement strategies over time. Devise strategies for industry outreach with a focus on increasing driver engagement. Create or refine TAT’s training resources for the trucking industry. Participate in press conferences and interviews on behalf of TAT as applicable. Track progress against short-, medium- and long-term goals. Evaluate and report on impact. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to combating human trafficking. Adaptability and curiosity. Exceptional public speaking skills. Effective strategic thinking skills. Excellent writing skills. Strong ability to build relationships, follow up on opportunities and grow partnerships. Advanced skills with Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience working with Salesforce. Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, plan time and schedule accordingly, coordinate and keep track of multiple details and problem solve successfully. High initiative, ability to self-start, and work independently devoid of office setting. Experience serving multi-ethnic/cultural communities. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Please note the selected candidate will be required to submit to a criminal records check.
