Research Resident, Emerging Technology and Security, Open Source

• Use open-source information to investigate and monitor emerging threats at the intersection of AI, biosecurity, and national security.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive picture of relevant actors, capabilities, and trends across multiple domains.
• Run investigations across open and commercial sources to track technical and scientific developments.
• Map organizations and talent networks, particularly between the US and China.
• Produce clear, decision-ready assessments for internal teams and external government and industry partners.

This role contributes to national security by providing timely, evidence-based assessments of emerging threats at the intersection of AI and biosecurity, helping to inform policy and defense decisions.

• Strong research and analytical skills, with experience using open-source intelligence (OSINT) methods.
• Knowledge of AI, biosecurity, or national security issues.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
