Reports To: Senior Director of Public Health Initiatives Employment Type: Full-Time, Regular (Grant-Funded Position) FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Fully Remote Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000 annually Funding Source: This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continued availability of grant funds. Travel: Domestic travel to lead program meetings, approximately six trips annually depending on program needs. Supervisory Responsibility: None About Us The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine represents clinicians and researchers with expertise in high-risk pregnancy care. SMFM and its members lead the evidence-based practice of high-risk pregnancy care through education, research, and advocacy, with the goal of advancing optimal perinatal outcomes. About the Role SMFM is seeking a Manager, Public Health Initiatives & Quality Improvement in Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy, to lead public health, education, and quality improvement programs focused on hypertension care during pregnancy and postpartum. Reporting to the Senior Director of Public Health Initiatives, the Manager will design and run a quality improvement academy, guide clinical site implementation, develop professional education, lead meetings, and own assigned workplans, partnerships, deliverables, and progress reporting. What You’ll Do Quality Improvement Academy & Clinical Implementation Lead the design and implementation of a Hypertension in Pregnancy Quality Improvement Academy, including its workplan, learning objectives, programming, expert contributions, participant communications, measures/metrics, and evaluation. Lead promotion, application and selection activities; recruit and engage clinical sites and support their progress throughout the program. Lead an implementation cohort focused on evidence-based changes in hypertension care during pregnancy and postpartum. Oversee site recruitment, develop and facilitate in-depth focus groups, coordinate technical assistance, and monitor participant needs and progress. Serve as program lead and primary contact for Academy and cohort meeting. Establish meeting goals, agendas, learning objectives, speaker plans, and follow-up activities; partner with the meetings team on logistics and guide Coordinator support. Clinical Education & Resource Development Lead assigned educational tools, publications, and clinical implementation resources from outline through expert review and completion, defining their purpose, audience, clinical questions, and content requirements. Contribute to postpartum hypertension consensus work led by another Manager through clinical question development, literature searches and evidence review, expert feedback, recommendation development, and document production. Design assigned educational sessions, including a symposium at the SMFM Pregnancy Meeting, by setting goals and learning objectives, building agendas, and guiding speaker content for the intended audience. Partner with SMFM’s education team on related courses by coordinating subject matter expert contributions, reviewing scientific content, and exploring opportunities to reach relevant medical societies and certifying bodies. Plan assigned education, awareness, and communications activities related to emerging quality measures and their use in clinical practice. Partnerships, Program Management & Reporting Manage day-to-day relationships with clinical sites, subject matter experts, federal partners, professional societies, and SMFM departments; facilitate program decisions and elevate issues requiring the Senior Director’s direction. Maintain workplans and track milestones, outcomes, risks, and deliverables. Prepare updates and coordinate information for grant progress reports and other funder requirements with the Senior Director. Recommend improvements and opportunities to expand the reach and impact of SMFM’s hypertensive disorders of pregnancy programming. Travel domestically to lead program meetings and represent SMFM at relevant events, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. About You You are a public health and healthcare program leader who can turn a broad goal into a well-run educational and quality improvement program. You can work across clinical specialties, guide subject matter experts, make sound program decisions, and remain accountable for deadlines and deliverables in a changing grant-funded environment. Experience & Qualifications Required Approximately five or more years of relevant experience in public health, healthcare quality improvement, clinical education, association programs, or a related field, including responsibility for developing and leading programs or substantial projects. Demonstrated experience developing and leading a professional education program, quality improvement initiative, clinical implementation project, or comparable multi-stakeholder program. Ability to develop learning objectives and agendas, guide speakers and experts, and lead professional education programs and in-person meetings. Experience coordinating across partners and clinical or public health stakeholders while managing workplans, deadlines, documentation, and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams. Preferred Master’s degree in public health or a related field. Experience with maternal health, obstetrics, clinical sites, medical societies, federal partners, or grant-funded initiatives. Experience searching PubMed or other databases and reviewing the relevance and quality of clinical evidence; familiarity with quality measures and clinical implementation. Experience with EndNote or Airtable. Other Requirements Duties may be adjusted to align with final grant requirements, approved workplans, budget parameters, and funder guidance.
