Job description
Design, test, and maintain Android tablet firmware and device platforms for educational deployments across Africa.
- Architect Android device software for multiple tablet hardware variants; assess component changes and their firmware impact.
- Develop Android firmware, bootloaders, and kernel configurations for MediaTek-based tablets; integrate vendor BSPs and early boot components.
- Contribute to Android application development in Kotlin/Java, focusing on device settings, diagnostics, provisioning, and offline reliability.
- Ensure safe OTA updates, factory flashing, secure boot, and validated deployments across hardware variants and field environments.
- Requires 5+ years Android systems, embedded Linux, or firmware engineering; hands-on MediaTek BSP and bootloader experience essential.
