Job description
Lead RAND's AI security research portfolio, overseeing 15+ researchers on technical security, cyber capability evaluation, and policy-informing projects.
- Define research priorities across multiple teams; lead complex cross-functional projects integrating technical R&D, cybersecurity, and policy analysis.
- Mentor and manage senior technical staff and project leaders; translate technical findings into actionable insights for policymakers and industry.
- Oversee development of AI threat models, security architectures, and evaluation tools assessing cyber risks and resilience.
- Requires PhD in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or related field plus 6+ years experience; or Master's plus 9+ years.
- Requires deep AI security expertise, proven success leading large technical programs, and ability to engage senior government stakeholders.
