Policy Director

• Own MAMA's legislative and coalition strategy at the state and federal level, translating legislative opportunity into clear pressure points for the organizing team.
• Track and analyze the state and federal legislative landscape to identify emerging opportunities, pressure points, and risks, and communicate findings to the organizing team, senior leadership, and coalition partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with federal lawmakers, Hill staff, and DC-based coalition partners to advance MAMA's congressional priorities.
• Provide a weekly briefing to senior leadership on legislative developments, coalition dynamics, emerging opportunities, and risks.

This role will help end childhood screen addiction by translating legislative opportunities into grassroots pressure, strengthening advocacy infrastructure, and converting MAMA's expanding network into coordinated legislative influence, ultimately protecting kids and families from harmful technology.

• 8-10+ years of experience in federal, congressional advocacy or coalition strategy, with aptitude to identify state legislative trends.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with federal lawmakers, Hill staff, and DC-based advocacy coalitions.
• Proven ability to read a legislative landscape and identify strategic opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communicator, able to translate complex policy dynamics for non-expert audiences.

Annual salary: $120,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off; health, dental, vision, and a generous holiday closure calendar. Remote team with East Coast core hours; occasional travel required.

Mothers Against Media Addiction (MAMA) is a national organization whose mission is to end childhood screen addiction, support families in raising healthy kids, and prevent runaway tech by educating parents, getting smartphones out of schools, and ensuring technology products have basic safeguards.
