Mission

What you will drive

  • Own MAMA's legislative and coalition strategy at the state and federal level, translating legislative opportunity into clear pressure points for the organizing team.
  • Track and analyze the state and federal legislative landscape to identify emerging opportunities, pressure points, and risks, and communicate findings to the organizing team, senior leadership, and coalition partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with federal lawmakers, Hill staff, and DC-based coalition partners to advance MAMA's congressional priorities.
  • Provide a weekly briefing to senior leadership on legislative developments, coalition dynamics, emerging opportunities, and risks.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • 8-10+ years of experience in federal, congressional advocacy or coalition strategy, with aptitude to identify state legislative trends.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with federal lawmakers, Hill staff, and DC-based advocacy coalitions.
  • Proven ability to read a legislative landscape and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator, able to translate complex policy dynamics for non-expert audiences.
