Manager, Data Engineering

Core responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and coach a team of six Data Engineering professionals, fostering a collaborative environment
• Own workload management for the Data Engineering team, including intake, prioritization, resource allocation, and metrics
• Work closely with technical data engineering leads to establish a data engineering roadmap and drive stakeholder alignment
• Design and implement the team's workflow strategy, ensuring transparent and smooth flow of work from intake through delivery

This role contributes to building a more sustainable future for the planet by supporting the distributed solar and energy storage industries through innovative technology and data engineering solutions.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer and 3+ years experience as a people manager
• Proficiency at successfully managing large scale data engineering projects with hands-on experience building data pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and familiarity with distributed systems like Spark, Kafka and data lakes
• Strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
