DRC Humanitarian Response Roster Membership – Localization Experts

• Lead and advise on localization implementation across humanitarian agencies and coordination structures.
• Facilitate collaboration between local and national NGOs, international NGOs, UN agencies, governments, and donors.
• Mentor and support local organisations in accessing coordination mechanisms, operational platforms, and decision‑making spaces.
• Identify barriers to effective localization and support practical solutions.

This role strengthens the capacity of UN organizations for more timely, effective, and accountable humanitarian response by promoting local leadership and collaboration, ensuring that aid reaches people affected by crises more efficiently.

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years specific experience with localization in humanitarian assistance.
• Minimum 2 years international humanitarian field experience with exposure to the localization agenda.
• Proficiency in English (mandatory) and preferably a second UN language (e.g., French).

Membership in the DRC Humanitarian Response Roster includes deployments to UN partners (OCHA, WFP, UNHCR, etc.) for typically 6 months. Compensation package is provided during deployment; details available on the DRC website.
