Program Officer (North Carolina – TEMPORARY Helene Recovery)

• Lead and represent CWS's EPRR strategy within the assigned region, serving as primary point of contact for external relationships.
• Develop understanding of unique challenges and needs of CWS offices and communities, proposing appropriate solutions and implementing EPRR interventions.
• Conduct ongoing preparedness training, provide resources, and develop network connections in vulnerable communities.
• Deploy to impacted communities to support response and recovery efforts, providing guidance and technical assistance.

This role directly supports vulnerable communities affected by disasters, enhancing preparedness and ensuring effective response and recovery, thereby reducing suffering and building resilience.

• Bachelor's degree in social services, disaster management, human rights, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in disaster programming, including emergency response from preparedness to recovery.
• Extensive knowledge of US disaster response mechanisms and services at local, state, and federal levels.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media.
