Civic Space Research Intern

• Support the implementation of the Monitor’s civic space incidents tool and assist with data coding of civic space incidents.
• Collect regional case studies and draft fact sheets for the annual People Power under Attack report.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for workshops and meetings.
• Support team communication strategy through social media and creation of visuals.

This role supports the CIVICUS Monitor’s global research collaboration, helping to track and analyze civic space incidents worldwide, thereby strengthening advocacy for fundamental freedoms and human rights.

• Completed bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, or a related field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge or experience conducting research on human rights.
• Understanding of international human rights frameworks related to fundamental freedoms of association, peaceful assembly and expression.

Full-time, 6-month internship contract with a monthly stipend of USD 1200. Remote work arrangement.
