Exceptional founders are recruited to build new companies in African export manufacturing and international labour mobility, with hands-on support and staged investment.
- Build companies connecting African workers to jobs in high-income countries (destination-side, based in high-income country) or recruiting and supporting workers from African origin countries (origin-side, based in Africa).
- Establish manufacturing companies in Africa that export globally, creating formal jobs at higher wages and advancing productivity; founders must be based in the African country where the company operates.
- Work collaboratively with the organization from opportunity identification through market understanding and path-to-impact development, leveraging their sector expertise and networks.
- Receive staged investment: initial scoping grants or investments ($0–$100k) to validate opportunities and test assumptions, followed by scale-up funding ($100k–$1m) upon clearing the bar.
- Requires world-class entrepreneurial ability, impact-driven motivation to move thousands into higher-productivity jobs, high agency to build from scratch, and resilience in complex markets.
