Virginia State Lead

• Support and coordinate state-level civic engagement programming, including implementation, partner communication, and event coordination.
• Serve as point of contact for partner institutions and campus administrators, providing nonpartisan information on voting processes.
• Supervise Democracy Fellows and help students organize voter registration, education, and turnout activities.
• Support Voter Friendly Campus activities and build relationships with community and statewide coalition partners.

This role strengthens democratic participation by empowering students and campuses to conduct nonpartisan voter engagement, ensuring underrepresented communities have a voice in elections.

• At least 1-2 years of experience in civic engagement, organizing, capacity building, or similar program work.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across Virginia with reliable transportation.
• Experience engaging diverse constituencies and institutions of higher education preferred.

Salary: $52,000/year. Limited benefits include vacation and sick leave, cell phone and internet stipends. Remote position.
