Vice President of Finance and Operations (Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S.)

• Lead finance and operations functions, partnering with senior leadership and the Board to set strategic direction and ensure financial health.
• Oversee accounting, grants management, financial planning, analysis, operations, and compliance.
• Build and nurture a high-performing finance organization, coordinate with program staff, and develop financial literacy across the organization.
• Drive operational initiatives such as monitoring, evaluation, learning, security assessment, and training for grant compliance.

This role ensures the financial health and operational excellence of Mighty Earth, enabling the organization to effectively protect nature and fight climate change through strategic advocacy and campaigns.

• At least 10 years of finance and accounting experience in a nonprofit setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity for a finance department.
• Experience with fund accounting, cloud-based billing and expense management systems, and international context.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and reasoning skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Interest in protecting the environment and advancing a more just society; commitment to working with diverse backgrounds.

Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000 per year. Generous benefits package including group health insurance, dental benefits, unlimited vacation time, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.
