Texas Agriculture Specialist

• Lead on-the-ground program development and relationship building in the Texas Panhandle, supporting farmers and ranchers in adopting regenerative grazing and cropping systems.
• Implement mentor network models, including recruiting, onboarding, and supporting mentors, and facilitating peer-to-peer learning and technical assistance.
• Organize workshops, field days, and learning circles addressing regional challenges like water scarcity and drought resilience, and connect producers to financial and technical resources.
• Track program activities and outcomes, and contribute to storytelling and communications efforts.

This role helps farmers and ranchers in the Texas Panhandle adopt regenerative practices that improve soil health, reduce water use, and enhance long-term farm viability, thereby protecting threatened agricultural land and supporting rural communities.

• Minimum of five years of experience in grazing management, ranch management, livestock production, range science, conservation planning, agricultural technical assistance, or closely related fields; OR a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and at least three years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural systems in the Southern Great Plains, including grazing, cropping, and water resource challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships with farmers, ranchers, and rural communities, and experience delivering technical assistance or education programs related to regenerative agriculture.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to travel frequently within the Panhandle.

Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year. Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, sick leave (13 days/year), vacation (15 days/year increasing to 20), 12 fixed holidays plus a week off between Christmas and New Year, and floating holidays.
