What you will drive
The consultant will lead an impact evaluation of a UK Aid Match project in Ethiopia, assessing its contribution to drought resilience among pastoralist households. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing a mixed-methods evaluation (household surveys, FGDs, KIIs, case studies) to measure outcomes and causal pathways.
- Analyzing project impact across six learning domains: water infrastructure, PPPs, IBLI, livestock services, DRR/EWS, and fodder production.
- Producing a final impact evaluation report, learning briefs, and validated datasets.

Profile
What makes you a great fit
- Proven experience conducting impact evaluations or rigorous final evaluations of multi-sectoral development or humanitarian programmes.
- Expertise in mixed-methods research, including quasi-experimental designs, contribution analysis, and participatory approaches.
- Strong thematic knowledge of pastoralist livelihoods, DRR, WASH, agricultural livelihoods, and market-based approaches (e.g., insurance).
- Experience working in East Africa, preferably in Somali Region, Ethiopia, with willingness to travel to remote field locations.
