Senior Corporate Counsel

• Lead legal support for the full BESS project lifecycle, from origination through financing and handoff to operations.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate key project agreements including site control, interconnection, procurement, construction, O&M, and commercial agreements.
• Support responses to RFPs and negotiate revenue agreements such as PPAs, tolling arrangements, and offtake structures.
• Advise on procurement, trade, supply chain matters, and support legal due diligence for project acquisitions and financings.

This role directly supports the development of utility-scale battery energy storage projects that enable the transition to a cleaner, more reliable electric grid, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and integrating renewable energy sources.

• 10+ years of relevant legal experience in energy project development and commercial transactions; utility-scale BESS experience in CAISO/WECC strongly preferred.
• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar license (CA, NY, or TX preferred).
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating offtake, power purchase, capacity, and tolling agreements.
• Strong knowledge of permitting, environmental review, land use, interconnection, real estate, procurement, and ISO/RTO market issues for BESS projects.

Salary range: $215,000 - $279,500 (base + 30% bonus target). Benefits include 401(k) with 6% match, monthly cell phone stipend, medical/dental/vision, 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 9 holidays. Remote within continental US.
