Representation In MSF Visual Materials- Research Consultant

• Co-design the concept note and research protocol for a study on representation in MSF archival visual materials from Mozambique.
• Conduct a literature review on representation, decolonization, and community engagement in humanitarian contexts.
• Prepare and submit ethical clearance documents to the relevant body in Mozambique.
• Collaborate with MSF teams and Mozambican researchers to ensure participatory and ethical research practices.

This research will help MSF ensure that visual materials used in communications respect the dignity and agency of represented communities, contributing to decolonized and ethical humanitarian practices.

• Formally registered research institution or consortium with experience in Mozambique.
• PhD in Anthropology or other social sciences for researchers involved.
• Demonstrable experience in qualitative research design, implementation, and dissemination.
• Excellent English and Portuguese writing and speaking skills.

Consultancy contract from September to December 2026. Compensation details not specified.
