Remote Nonprofit Financial Controller

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and restricted funds accounting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational decision-making.
• Manage financial systems, process improvements, and ensure strong internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and mentor the senior accounting manager and foster a collaborative finance culture.

This role ensures sound financial stewardship and compliance for an organization that helps hundreds of donors maximize the impact of their philanthropic giving in response to disasters and humanitarian crises, supporting equitable recovery and addressing root causes of vulnerabilities worldwide.

• 8+ years of broad nonprofit accounting experience in a supervisory role.
• Expert knowledge of nonprofit fund and grant accounting, GAAP, FASB, GAAS, and revenue recognition principles.
• Experience leading annual audits, regulatory filings, and compliance in a nonprofit environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, fund accounting systems, and electronic data processing tools.

Full-time, salaried, exempt position. Salary range: $108,000 to $121,500. Fully remote within Mountain, Central, or Eastern US time zones. In-person team retreats 2-3 times per year. Equal opportunity employer committed to equity and anti-racism.
