Mission

What you will drive

  • Lead and represent CWS's EPRR strategy within the Southeast region, engaging with external partners such as state VOAD, LTRG, faith-based organizations, and emergency management agencies.
  • Develop understanding of challenges faced by CWS offices and vulnerable communities, propose solutions, and implement EPRR interventions.
  • Conduct preparedness training, provide resources, and build networks to enhance emergency preparedness and response effectiveness.
  • Deploy to disaster-affected communities to support response and recovery efforts, providing guidance and technical assistance to CWS local offices.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, disaster management, human rights, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in disaster programming, including emergency response across preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. disaster response mechanisms and services, including local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media; fluency in English; fluency in a refugee language (e.g., Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish) desired.
