Program Officer (South)

• Lead and represent CWS's EPRR strategy within the assigned southern region, engaging with external partners like state VOAD, LTRG, faith-based partners, and emergency management.
• Develop understanding of challenges faced by CWS offices and vulnerable communities, propose solutions, and implement EPRR interventions.
• Conduct preparedness training, provide resources, and build network connections; deploy to disaster-affected communities to support response and recovery.

This role directly supports vulnerable communities, including refugees and immigrants, in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters, ensuring they have access to resources and networks that enhance their resilience and well-being.

• Bachelor's degree in social services, disaster management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in disaster programming, including emergency response across preparedness, response, and recovery.
• Knowledge of US disaster response mechanisms and services at local, state, and federal levels.
• Fluency in English; fluency in a refugee language (Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish) strongly desired.
