Role details
Raise funds from major donors by providing detailed analysis and information about wild animal welfare research and organizational strategy.
- Manage a portfolio of 50–100 major donors ($10k–$100k annually), building relationships remotely and identifying in-person engagement opportunities.
- Develop tailored resources—emails, reports, cost-effectiveness analyses—to help donors understand WAI's work and make informed giving decisions.
- Plan 2–3-year donor cultivation strategies, track pipeline stages in Salesforce, and refine major gifts systems with leadership.
- Requires deep familiarity with effective altruism funding landscape, donor decision-making, and demonstrated remote relationship-building ability.
- Requires strong writing, scientific literacy, critical thinking, and genuine enthusiasm for wild animal welfare research.
