Payroll Supervisor

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for monitoring all tasks and initiatives necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives. The Payroll Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of the payroll staff and functions to maintain data integrity to ensure timely and accurate preparation and processing of payroll.

Principle responsibilities include:

• Exhibiting in-depth knowledge of complex payroll processes for incentives, garnishments, escalations, commissions and shift differentials
• Holding knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance
• Assuming responsibility for all employee and operational payroll escalations to ensure timely resolutions
• Assisting payroll processors and analysts with complex incentive support issues
• Ensuring timely response to requests from unions, tax authorities and other agencies
• Tracking metrics and KPIs to evaluate payroll and data performance
• Managing the processing of garnishment wage orders
• Managing payroll processing for disaster relief operations according to documented procedures
• Providing technical expertise to payroll analysts and processors related to payroll applications
• Ensuring creation of complex ad-hoc reports to assist in managing and evaluating employee and payroll data
• Providing recommendations to field team members based on analysis of data extracted from payroll system
• Supporting development of sustainable training programs for supervisors, managers and employees
• Leading and organizing process improvement projects to advance payroll functions

This role ensures timely and accurate payroll processing for Republic Services' 41,000 team members, supporting the company's operations in environmental services and sustainability initiatives across North America.

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience
• In-depth knowledge of complex payroll processes including incentives, garnishments, escalations, commissions and shift differentials
• Knowledge of union collective bargaining agreements
• Experience with payroll system applications and creating complex ad-hoc reports
• Ability to track metrics and KPIs to evaluate payroll performance
• Experience managing payroll staff and functions

Pay for this role is $86,700.00 - $130,100.00 USD Annual depending on experience.
