Manager, Rates and Electrification - Carbon-Free Buildings Program

• Lead the long-term rates work stream for RMI, including strategic goal setting, project execution, and delivery of high-quality outputs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on rate design, overseeing analytical tools built in Python and Excel, and guiding junior staff.
• Develop presentations, research reports, and other materials; synthesize complex technical and policy information into actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate stakeholder working sessions, build relationships with industry partners and government agencies, and support donor/client reporting and proposal development.

This role accelerates the transition to clean energy and electrification in U.S. buildings, reducing carbon emissions while improving affordability, resilience, health, and economic outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, public policy, finance, or related quantitative field.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience (or advanced degree plus 4+ years) in building decarbonization, utility regulation, electric rate design, or clean energy policy.
• Direct experience managing staff or leading project teams with mentoring and feedback skills.
• Demonstrated capability to oversee quantitative analysis in electric rate design, utility cost-of-service, or building electrification economics, and translate results into policy solutions.

Salary range: $105,230–$129,696 annually (USD), plus annual bonus target of 10% and merit-based increases.
