Payments Operations Lead

• Own day-to-day payment operations including merchant onboarding, gateway operations, reconciliation, and support escalation for Klir Connect's payment platform.
• Define and document scalable processes for onboarding new utilities and programs, ensuring repeatable and reliable payment flows.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between payment operations and cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, CX) to resolve issues and drive improvements.
• Identify customer friction points and provide prioritized feedback to Product/Engineering, assisting with testing as needed.

This role ensures that water utilities and their customers can reliably process payments, making clean, safe water more affordable and accessible by removing friction in the payment experience.

• Operational clarity: ability to turn messy, first-time processes into repeatable, documented workflows.
• Comfort with money and detail: experience with reconciliation, payment records, and accuracy under time pressure.
• Judgment under ambiguity: ability to make good decisions in unclear situations and know when to escalate.
• Cross-functional coordination: experience working across engineering, finance, CX, and external customers.
• AI fluency: use of AI tools to draft responses, summarize issues, or speed up documentation.
• Bias for action: values speed and getting things done over prolonged analysis.
