Head of Communications

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to inform key stakeholders on AI capabilities, risks, and solutions, advocating for responsible AI development and deployment.
• Lead the communications team, overseeing media relations, content creation, social media, and stakeholder engagement to amplify FAR.AI's research and events.
• Shape messaging and narratives to reach policymakers, industry leaders, and the general public, ensuring FAR.AI's voice remains trusted and authoritative.

This role directly shapes public understanding and policy decisions on AI safety, helping to mitigate existential risks from advanced AI and ensuring responsible development for the benefit of all.

• 5+ years of professional experience in communications (public relations, science journalism, policy communication) or operational roles with significant communication elements.
• 2+ years of experience managing people and specialized teams, or proven ability to lead complex initiatives without formal authority.
• Track record of setting strategy and vision in communications, brand, or adjacent domains.
• Hands-on fluency across earned media, brand, and content; excellent strategic judgment and ability to manage multiple projects.

Compensation: $175,000–$260,000/year depending on experience and location, with potential for additional compensation for exceptional candidates. Benefits for US & Singapore employees include catered lunch and dinner at Berkeley office. Full-time, long-term position with flexible remote options.
