Industry Program, Senior Research Associate

• Lead and conduct research, analysis, policy development, and program design on industrial heat efficiency and electrification.
• Develop thought leadership on industrial market transformation and engage with state and federal policymakers, utilities, manufacturers, and vendors.
• Contribute to proposal development, interact with funders, and develop new funding sources.

This role advances industrial energy efficiency and decarbonization, helping the U.S. industrial sector cut costs, reduce emissions, and reach net-zero carbon by 2050, while creating jobs and benefiting underserved communities.

• Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of work experience, or Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; coursework in engineering, physical science, economics, or environmental science.
• Strong interest in industrial decarbonization and/or industrial policy; experience engaging with industrial managers, engineers, vendors, or policymakers.
• Strong writing skills and authorship of multiple peer-reviewed reports, including at least one as lead author.

Salary: $77,467 to $96,834 annually. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance; 403(b) retirement plan; transportation and bike share benefits (if in DC-Maryland-Virginia area); 3 weeks vacation (4 after first year), 11 federal holidays, and office closure between Christmas and New Year's.
