Director of Individual Giving (candidates can be based anywhere in the US)

• Develop and lead plans to build the individual donor program, emphasizing four and five-figure gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of 75+ current and prospective donors through in-person, phone, video, and email updates.
• Identify new donors through events, database of activists, and other avenues.
• Manage a development team member and support the Executive Director's fundraising efforts.

This role directly expands Climate Defiance's capacity to fight climate change by building a sustainable individual donor base, enabling bold, nonviolent direct action and strategic communications to hold decision-makers accountable.

• At least five years of experience in development and individual giving programs, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• Proven success in managing and growing a portfolio of individual donors and securing five-figure gifts.
• Experience scaling up a major donor program and identifying high-capacity prospects.
• Results-driven, entrepreneurial, and comfortable with frequent travel (35-50%).

Salary: $80,000 to $115,000 annually. Benefits include unlimited vacation time (20 days plus Christmas week encouraged), group health care, and a 401(k) with a 7% employer contribution.
