Chief Operating Officer

• Oversee HR, IT, and business operations to ensure organizational effectiveness and scalability.
• Lead strategic planning, operational governance, and cross-functional alignment to advance conservation finance goals.
• Drive enterprise execution, performance management, and risk mitigation across a distributed remote workforce.

This role enables Blue Forest to scale its conservation finance platform, accelerating ecosystem restoration and climate resilience for ecosystems and communities through operational excellence and strategic leadership.

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in executive operations, HR, or related roles within nonprofit or small- to mid-size organizations.
• Proven experience managing distributed teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Expertise in HR systems, IT infrastructure, organizational systems management, and nonprofit compliance.
• Strong strategic planning, project management, and financial operations skills, including budget management and familiarity with grant agreements.

Salary: $200,000 - $225,000 annually. Benefits include 100% employer-paid health/dental/vision, 401(k) with 5% match, 4 weeks vacation, 17 paid holidays, 3 months paid family leave, home office stipend, wellness stipend, and professional development support.
