Africa Communications Consultant

• Support and coordinate communications efforts to grow support for a Fossil Fuel Treaty across Africa, including social media, digital content, and traditional media strategy.
• Create and distribute communications materials such as press releases, website content, talking points, and social media content.
• Develop relationships with journalists and manage media coverage tracking and reporting.
• Activate and maintain relationships with African partners, champions, and civil society organizations to amplify campaign engagement.

This role helps scale communications for a Fossil Fuel Treaty across Africa, supporting a global just transition and a fossil fuel-free future by engaging governments, civil society, and communities.

• Minimum five years of professional communications campaigning experience in Africa.
• Demonstrated experience in social media, digital content production, and media relations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities with a commitment to cross-cultural competency.

Compensation: $2000 - $2500 USD per month, depending on experience, location, and agreed working hours. Part-time consultancy contract from July 2026 to June 2027. Remote work with some travel.
