1. Dimagi
Dimagi builds CommCare, an open-source mobile platform used by frontline health workers for data collection, case management, and decision support. Dimagi is one of the longer-established names in digital health for development. They hire remotely for software engineering, data science, project management, and technical consulting roles.
2. Medic
Medic develops the Community Health Toolkit (CHT), an open-source platform that powers community health systems in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Their tools help community health workers register patients, track pregnancies, and deliver care protocols through basic mobile phones. Medic hires remote software engineers, product designers, and technical programme managers who want to work at the intersection of open source and public health.
3. Zipline
Zipline operates the world's largest autonomous drone delivery network, transporting blood, vaccines, and medications to hard-to-reach clinics across Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, and beyond. It has since expanded beyond medical supplies. Zipline hires remotely for software engineering, flight operations, data analytics, and regulatory affairs positions.
4. Ada Health
Ada Health has built a symptom assessment app. The app helps users understand their symptoms and guides them to appropriate care, reducing unnecessary clinic visits while catching serious conditions early. Ada hires remotely for medical knowledge engineering, natural language processing research, and clinical validation roles.
5. Eko
Eko develops cardiac screening tools that use machine learning, including smart stethoscopes and ECG devices that detect heart disease at the point of care. Eko hires for hardware engineering, machine learning, clinical research, and sales roles, with several positions offering remote flexibility.
