Vice President of Finance and Operations

• Lead the finance and operations functions, partnering with senior leadership and the Board to set strategic direction and ensure financial health.
• Oversee accounting, grants management, financial planning, analysis, operations, and compliance.
• Build and nurture a high-performing finance organization, coordinate with program staff, and develop financial literacy across the organization.
• Drive operational initiatives such as monitoring, evaluation, learning, security assessment, and training.

This role ensures the financial health and operational excellence of Mighty Earth, enabling the organization to effectively protect nature and fight climate change through high-impact advocacy.

• At least 10 years of finance and accounting experience in a nonprofit setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity for a finance department.
• Experience managing complex financial situations, driving systems change, and process improvement.
• Nonprofit finance and accounting knowledge including audited financial statements, budgets, projections, and grants management.
• Experience with fund accounting, cloud-based billing and expense management systems, and international context.
