Vice President, Controller

• Lead and manage the finance and accounting departments, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data and reporting.
• Oversee development and maintenance of accounting systems, internal controls, and month-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, Form 990, and other regulatory filings; manage audits and retirement plan reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.

This role ensures the financial integrity and compliance of MDA, enabling the organization to maximize resources for research, healthcare, and advocacy for people with neuromuscular diseases.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; Master's degree and CPA license preferred.
• Non-Profit Experience required; 5-10 years of people management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and GAAP; hands-on working knowledge of accounting software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to handle confidential information.

Salary range: $160,000 - $170,000.
