Job description

About OneTable OneTable is reimagining how a new generation discovers, creates, and experiences Jewish life. Every week, thousands of young adults gather around Shabbat tables, building friendships, exploring identity, and creating communities that matter to them. OneTable has helped make these gatherings possible by removing barriers and empowering people to bring others together on their own terms. Now, we’re building on that foundation. We see an extraordinary opportunity to turn the power of Shabbat into something even bigger: a new generation of Jewish leaders, stronger communities, and meaningful pathways into Jewish life. We’re investing in the Shabbat hosts who bring others together, reimagining our digital platform, and finding new ways to make Jewish connection accessible, relevant, and compelling. To help lead this next chapter, we’re looking for an exceptional Vice President of Brand & Marketing. The Opportunity This is not a traditional nonprofit marketing role. We’re looking for a creative, digitally fluent, growth-oriented leader who knows how to build a brand people want to be part of and turn that excitement into action. The Vice President of Brand & Marketing will shape how OneTable shows up in the world, how new audiences discover us, and how we inspire them to move from curiosity to participation to leadership. You’ll have the opportunity to build a modern marketing engine at the intersection of community, culture, technology, and Jewish life. Our budget is nonprofit-sized, but our ambitions aren’t, so we’re looking for someone who gets energized by making magic with limited resources. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll help shape both the strategy and the execution of OneTable’s next phase of growth. We want someone who can think like a brand builder, operate like a growth marketer, and create like a storyteller. What You’ll Do Build a Brand That Breaks Through Lead the evolution of OneTable’s brand, positioning, voice, and creative identity to reach a new generation of young adults. Ensure a consistent and distinctive brand experience across digital platforms, campaigns, partnerships, and participant touchpoints. Position OneTable as an innovative leader in how young adults build community and discover meaningful Jewish life. Tell compelling stories about the people, relationships, and communities emerging through Shabbat that engage and encourage donors and resonate with participants. Drive Audience Growth and Acquisition Develop integrated approaches across organic social, viral non-paid marketing content, search, influencers, creators, partnerships, referrals, paid media, and emerging channels. Design and optimize the journey from discovering OneTable to attending a first dinner, returning, and ultimately becoming a host. Establish clear acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retention metrics. Use data, experimentation, and creative testing to continuously improve performance. Identify opportunities to reach audiences who are not currently engaged in Jewish communal life. Build and lead a sophisticated participant acquisition strategy that brings new young adults into the OneTable ecosystem. Lead Digital Innovation and Marketing Technology Bring a digital-first mindset to everything we do, recognizing that the way young adults discover communities and experiences is constantly changing. Leverage AI, automation, personalization, and emerging marketing technologies to make OneTable’s outreach more effective and scalable. Partner closely with technology and program leadership to shape the participant experience across OneTable’s digital platform. Help reimagine how people discover gatherings, find relevant experiences, connect with others, and explore opportunities beyond the Shabbat table. Build the systems and capabilities necessary to deliver personalized communications at scale. Translate audience insights and behavior into smarter marketing and product decisions. Make OneTable Part of the Cultural Conversation Develop creative partnerships and events with influencers, creators, brands, and organizations that expand OneTable’s reach. Oversee events (Shabbats, partnership dinners, influencer opportunities) to align with OneTable’s brand, beliefs and to best showcase Shabbat and OneTable’s role in supporting Shabbat for young adults Identify cultural moments and emerging trends where OneTable can show up in fresh, authentic ways. Lead communications and public relations strategy to elevate OneTable’s visibility and thought leadership. Find new ways to make Shabbat and Jewish community feel relevant to young adults who may never have considered participating. Build and Lead a High-Performing Marketing Function Lead a small but high-impact team and collaborators across departments, with a focus on creativity, accountability, and experimentation. Build an effective network of external agencies, creative partners, freelancers, and specialists. Establish clear priorities, budgets, and performance measures. Collaborate across the organization to ensure that marketing, program, philanthropy, and technology work toward shared goals. Balance ambitious creative thinking with disciplined execution and measurable results. Who You Are We’re looking for an executive-level leader who combines exceptional creative instincts with a rigorous understanding of how brands grow. You may have built your career in consumer brands, technology, digital media, entertainment, hospitality, startups, or other organizations that know how to attract and engage audiences. You do not need to come from the Jewish nonprofit world. We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring new perspectives, experiences, and approaches. You are excited, not intimidated, by trying to reach ambitious goals on a tight budget and are always looking for ways to drive towards excellence regardless of obstacles. You Bring Significant experience leading brand, growth, digital marketing, or integrated marketing functions, including meaningful leadership responsibility. A track record of building brands and campaigns that connect with audiences and drive measurable growth. Deep fluency in contemporary digital marketing, including viral, non-paid marketing, social platforms, audience segmentation, performance measurement, and paid and organic acquisition. Strong creative judgment and the ability to recognize and develop exceptional storytelling. Experience using data and experimentation to improve acquisition, conversion, and engagement. Fluency and curiosity about AI, marketing automation, personalization, and emerging technologies, along with the ability to put new tools to practical use. The ability to move between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. Experience leading teams and working effectively with external creative and technical partners. Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire colleagues, partners, and audiences. Comfort operating in an evolving organization where creativity, adaptability, and entrepreneurial thinking are essential. Just as Important, You Are A builder. You get excited about creating something new, not simply maintaining what’s already there. A storyteller. You know how to make people feel something and inspire them to act. A growth thinker. You understand that awareness matters, but meaningful participation is the goal. A bold risk taker. Willing to take chances, try new things, learn from mistakes, make decisions quickly, make a mark. Digitally native in your thinking. You understand how people discover, share, and engage with experiences today, and you’re curious about what comes next. A collaborative leader. You can bring people together around a compelling vision and translate that vision into results. Mission-driven. You believe in the power of human connection and are excited by the opportunity to strengthen Jewish community in new ways. Additional Details Location: OneTable offers a flexible hybrid work policy that allows you to work from anywhere in the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Travel required for events, partnerships, and annual staff retreats. Start date: January 2027 Compensation and Benefits OneTable is committed to salary transparency. The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $195,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of this range; final offers reflect relevant experience and our commitment to internal equity. This is a full-time, exempt position. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance (OneTable pays 85% of employee premiums and 50% for dependents), a 5% retirement match after 13 months, PTO, office closures for major Jewish holidays and the weeks of July 4 and December 25 to January 1, and early closures every Friday so we can get ready for Shabbat. Full benefits details: https://onetable.org/careers-vp-brand-marketing/ Why OneTable, Why Now? OneTable is at an inflection point. We have a powerful foundation: a nationally recognized brand, a proven model for bringing young adults together, a growing community of hosts, and years of insight into what inspires people to connect. But we’re not interested in simply doing more of the same. We’re asking bigger questions about how community is built, how leadership emerges, and how technology can make meaningful Jewish life easier to discover and create. The Vice President of Brand & Marketing will have a rare opportunity to help shape the answers. This is a chance to build a brand and growth strategy that reaches a new generation, strengthens communities, and helps redefine what Jewish engagement can look like.
