2

Demonstrate your experience managing cross-functional programs by describing a project where you coordinated with legal, IT, and external vendors.

3

Tailor your resume to emphasize metrics like recruitment speed, quality improvements, or compliance achievements in research operations.

  • โ†’ Understand the regulatory landscape for autonomous vehicles in the US, especially regarding data collection and privacy.
  • โ†’ Review any publicly available information about Zoox's design process or research methods (e.g., their approach to safety and usability).
  • โ†’ Look into Zoox's company culture and values, particularly around innovation and cross-team collaboration, to align your answers.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Prepare for These Interview Topics

Based on this role, you may be asked about:

1 Describe a time you built a participant recruitment system from scratch. What were the key challenges and how did you ensure compliance?
2 How do you prioritize competing demands from research, product, and design teams while managing vendor relationships?
3 Walk me through how you would design a feedback loop to convert raw research findings into actionable product requirements.
4 How do you handle data privacy and security concerns when managing participant panels for autonomous vehicle research?
5 What metrics do you use to measure the success of research operations, and how have you improved them in past roles?

โš ๏ธ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying without tailoring your resume to research operationsโ€”generic program management experience won't stand out.
  • Focusing only on technical skills without demonstrating understanding of UX research workflows and stakeholder management.
  • Neglecting to address compliance and data handling in your application or interview, which are critical for autonomous vehicle research.
