Ukraine Human Rights Associate

Core responsibilities:

• Lead Ukraine research and advocacy work through independent human rights research and documentation
• Conduct strategic advocacy with government officials, diplomats, UN representatives, and other key stakeholders to address human rights concerns
• Develop and implement country strategy through research, stakeholder engagement, and support to human rights defenders
• Monitor human rights developments and serve as credible source of human rights information both internally and externally

This role creates positive change by investigating human rights violations in Ukraine, advocating for solutions with decision-makers, and strengthening human rights defenders and affected communities through evidence-based research and strategic truth-telling.

Required qualifications:

• At least five years of experience in human rights research, documentation, strategic advocacy, and engagement
• Post-graduate degree in relevant fields or comparable work experience (law degree preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of human rights situation in Ukraine and understanding of human rights/humanitarian law
• Fluency in written and oral English and Ukrainian languages required
