UI/UX Design Intern, Internal Platforms

• Audit the existing internal platform to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement.
• Design clean, modern interfaces and contribute to a reusable component library and design system.
• Partner with engineering, product, and end-users to validate ideas through interviews and usability tests.
• Translate complex internal workflows into simple, intuitive UI patterns and track UX metrics.

This role directly improves the efficiency and satisfaction of hundreds of internal users by redesigning the platform they rely on daily, contributing to Zoox's mission of safer, sustainable transportation.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field, or self-taught with strong portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma; solid understanding of UI fundamentals (typography, spacing, color, accessibility, responsive design).
• Familiarity with design systems (Material, Apple HIG, Polaris, or similar).
• Strong communication skills and self-directed, outcome-oriented mindset.

Monthly salary range: $5,500 to $6,500. Additional benefits may include medical insurance and a housing stipend (relocation assistance based on eligibility).
