How to apply for Technical Manager (Concrete - APAC Region)

CarbonCure

About CarbonCure

CarbonCure Technologies builds carbon mineralization systems that inject captured CO₂ into concrete, permanently embedding it while reducing the cement needed per truckload. Hundreds of systems operate worldwide, and the company has saved hundreds of thousands of metric tons of CO₂. It won the Carbon XPRIZE Grand Prize and is backed by investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Amazon, Microsoft, and Samsung Ventures.

About the role

This is a remote technical manager role covering the APAC region for CarbonCure's concrete technology. You would support concrete producers using CarbonCure systems, likely handling installation, troubleshooting, training, and technical account management across multiple countries and time zones. The work directly affects how much CO₂ each producer's concrete permanently stores.

A typical day

A typical day could include a remote troubleshooting call with a producer in one APAC country, a system installation or calibration visit at a plant, and follow-up training for plant operators. You would also document issues, coordinate with CarbonCure's engineering or sales teams, and manage travel and schedules across time zones.

Who CarbonCure is looking for

  • Hands-on concrete industry experience: ready-mix production, mix design, admixtures, batching, or quality control
  • Comfortable with technical equipment: able to install, calibrate, and troubleshoot hardware and software in a plant environment
  • Works independently across APAC time zones and travels to producer sites as needed
  • Can train plant staff and explain technical concepts clearly to both operators and managers
  • Fluent in English; additional APAC languages are useful for producer communication

Tips for this application

  • Name specific concrete systems and equipment you have worked with (batch controllers, admixture dosing, moisture probes, mix designs) in your resume bullets.
  • Quantify your concrete experience: tons produced, number of plants supported, number of mix designs managed, or CO₂ reduction achieved.
  • Address APAC coverage directly: state which countries you have worked in, your travel flexibility, and any language skills.
  • Connect your concrete knowledge to carbon reduction. Explain how CO₂ injection or cement reduction affects mix performance, set time, and strength.
  • Since the role is remote, describe how you have managed remote technical support or field service across distances in past jobs.

What to cover in your cover letter

Explain why concrete production experience matters for this role and give one concrete example of solving a plant technical problem. Show you understand CarbonCure's process: CO₂ injection, permanent mineralization, and cement reduction. State your APAC coverage and travel capacity. Mention any experience training plant staff or supporting producers remotely.

Draft a cover letter

Research before applying

  • Read CarbonCure's technical pages on how CO₂ injection works and how it reduces cement content in concrete.
  • Look up the Carbon XPRIZE and what the Grand Prize recognized about CarbonCure's technology.
  • Review CarbonCure's investor list and recent announcements to understand where the company is growing, especially in APAC.
  • Search for ready-mix producers in APAC that have adopted carbon utilization or low-carbon concrete requirements.

Likely interview topics

Based on the job description, expect questions about:

  • Walk through a time you diagnosed and fixed a technical problem at a concrete plant. What was the root cause?
  • How would you explain CarbonCure's CO₂ injection process to a ready-mix producer who has never heard of it?
  • How do you handle a producer whose concrete mix is not meeting strength or set-time targets after a system change?
  • Describe your experience working across APAC markets. Which countries have you supported, and how did you manage time zones and travel?
  • How would you prioritize support requests when multiple producers across the region report issues at the same time?

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying without any concrete production or ready-mix experience. This role requires plant-level knowledge, not just general technical management.
  • Ignoring the APAC scope. Candidates who do not address regional travel, time zones, or local market conditions look unprepared.
  • Treating this as a generic software or IT manager role. The job centers on physical systems, concrete mixes, and producer sites.

Deadline

No deadline is listed. Roles without a deadline usually close once the employer has enough candidates, so apply soon if you are interested.
