How to apply for Talent Lead

White Circle

About White Circle

White Circle is an AI safety company building the safety, reliability, and optimization layer for AI systems. It has raised a $70M Series A from investors including leaders at OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Mistral, DeepMind, Datadog, and Sentry, and processes over 100 million API calls per month. The team is small and focused, so work ships to production quickly.

About the role

This is a hands-on Talent Lead role. You will own the hiring process end-to-end, personally source and hire candidates across GTM, Ops, Research, and Product, and build scalable recruiting infrastructure and performance tracking. You will work closely with the Head of People and hiring managers.

A typical day

A typical day might include sourcing candidates for open roles, screening resumes and calls, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and updating hiring metrics. You would also spend time building or improving recruiting processes and working with the Head of People on hiring priorities.

Who White Circle is looking for

  • Has done full-cycle recruiting before, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing candidates.
  • Is comfortable working as an individual contributor in a small team, not just managing others.
  • Can build recruiting processes and track hiring metrics from scratch.
  • Has experience hiring across multiple functions such as GTM, Ops, Research, and Product.

Tips for this application

  • Show concrete examples of roles you personally sourced and closed, not just teams you managed.
  • Name the functions you have hired for (GTM, Ops, Research, Product) and give specific examples.
  • Describe a recruiting process or metric system you built and the results it produced.
  • Mention any experience hiring in AI, developer tools, or infrastructure companies.
  • Keep your application focused on hands-on recruiting work, since the job description stresses this is not a management-only role.

What to cover in your cover letter

['Your end-to-end ownership of hiring processes, from sourcing to closing.', 'Specific examples of sourcing and hiring across GTM, Ops, Research, or Product.', 'Recruiting infrastructure or tracking systems you have built and how they improved hiring.', 'Why you want to work at an AI safety company with a small, focused team.']

Likely interview topics

Based on the job description, expect questions about:

  • Walk through a hiring process you owned end-to-end. What was your sourcing strategy and how did you close the candidate?
  • How have you built recruiting processes or metrics from scratch? What did you track and why?
  • Describe your experience hiring for GTM, Ops, Research, and Product roles. Which was hardest and why?
  • How do you work with hiring managers to define roles and run interview loops?
  • What do you know about AI safety and why does it matter for a company like White Circle?

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying with a resume that only shows management or team-lead experience without hands-on recruiting work.
  • Writing a cover letter that focuses on culture or mission without concrete hiring results.
  • Ignoring the multi-function hiring requirement and only mentioning one area like engineering or GTM.

Deadline

No deadline is listed. Roles without a deadline usually close once the employer has enough candidates, so apply soon if you are interested.
