Staff CPE Engineer (Remote)

• Lead IT operations for a globally distributed team, including endpoint management, software procurement, identity and access administration, and employee lifecycle management.
• Design and implement zero-touch provisioning, automated workflows, and fleet health monitoring to shift IT from reactive to proactive support.
• Manage the annual software budget, optimize license utilization, and negotiate vendor contracts.
• Supervise and mentor IT support staff, setting technical direction and raising the bar for IT operations.

By enabling efficient and reliable IT operations across KoBold's global exploration projects, this role directly supports the discovery of critical minerals needed for electric vehicles, renewable energy, and data centers, accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy.

• 5+ years of experience in IT engineering or IT management combining hands-on technical depth with operational ownership.
• Strong experience with MDM platforms (Jamf for macOS, Intune for Windows) including policy configuration, automated enrollment, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience with identity and access management (Okta preferred), software procurement and renewals, and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• People management or technical lead experience with ability to coach and mentor staff.

US base salary range: $150,000 - $180,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits including 401k matching. Remote-first workplace with flexible location in US or Canada. Opportunity to travel to exploration project sites worldwide.
