Sr. Software Engineer

• Design and build the cloud platform for GridIQ's grid monitoring device, including device data ingestion, time-series storage, multi-tenant access control, alerting, data backup, and API.
• Build the IoT ingestion layer using MQTT broker and AWS IoT Core, and pipeline from device uplink to durable storage.
• Implement automated data backup and recovery, alerting pipeline, and REST API for frontend and third-party integrations.
• Write and own infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CDK) and CI/CD for backend services.

This role directly contributes to building the cloud infrastructure for grid monitoring devices, enabling more efficient and reliable energy distribution, which supports the transition to a sustainable energy grid.

• 5+ years of backend engineering with at least one production IoT or telemetry platform.
• Experience with AWS IoT Core and MQTT-based ingestion pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for production backend services.
• Experience with time-series or event-driven data stores (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, Timestream, or similar).
• Infrastructure-as-code proficiency (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Experience designing APIs with authentication and access control.
