How to Apply for Senior Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager

at EIDU

🏢 About EIDU

EIDU is a nonprofit organization that leverages low-cost shared devices to deliver adaptive digital literacy and numeracy programs in public schools across Kenya and Nigeria. Working at EIDU means contributing to scalable, evidence-based solutions that directly impact educational outcomes for thousands of children in underserved communities.

About This Role

As the Senior M&E Manager, you will lead the design and implementation of M&E frameworks and impact evaluations for education technology programs in Nigeria. Your work will directly inform program improvements and provide critical evidence to governments and funders, shaping the future of edtech in the region.

💡 A Day in the Life

Your day might start with a virtual meeting with the Nigerian field team to review data collection progress for an ongoing evaluation, followed by analyzing preliminary data to identify trends. In the afternoon, you might draft an M&E framework for a new program or meet with a state education official to align on research protocols, ending the day by mentoring junior staff on data quality checks.

🎯 Who EIDU Is Looking For

  • Holds a Ph.D. in social sciences, data science, or education, with over 6 years of M&E experience in international development or education programs, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Proven expertise in designing and leading rigorous impact evaluations, including RCTs, from instrument design to analysis and reporting.
  • Strong ability to build M&E systems, SOPs, and tools, and to manage complex data collection processes in low-resource settings.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government ministries and funders, and a deep understanding of the Nigerian education landscape.
  • Passionate about using data to drive social impact and improving learning outcomes for marginalized children.

📝 Tips for Applying to EIDU

1

Tailor your CV to highlight specific RCTs and large-scale evaluations you have led, including your role in instrument design, fieldwork, and analysis, using metrics like sample size and impact.

2

In your cover letter, explicitly connect your experience with digital education or technology-based programs and explain how you can apply this to EIDU's adaptive learning model.

3

Demonstrate your knowledge of the Nigerian education sector by referencing specific states or challenges, showing you understand the context where EIDU operates.

4

Showcase your ability to build M&E frameworks from scratch and standardize processes, as this is a key part of the role.

5

If possible, provide examples of how you have translated evaluation findings into actionable recommendations for program improvement and policy.
