About ev.energy
We’re building the world’s largest Virtual Power Plant (VPP). By connecting to vehicles and chargers, we turn EVs into flexible grid assets that balance supply and demand, preventing blackouts and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
We’re scaling across North America and Europe. We are moving fast, we are AI-first, and we are looking for builders who want to power the grid of the future.
We are scaling rapidly across North America and Europe. We are moving fast, we are AI-first, and we are looking for builders who want to power the grid of the future.
The opportunity
This role owns one of the most impactful surfaces in the ev.energy product: the communications that guide users all the way from sign-up to long-term retention. You’ll deploy email, push notifications, in-app messages and SMS to maximise activation and retention. You'll set the direction, build the infrastructure, and run experiments - shaping our comms as a product, not a to-do list.
You’ll also apply your product mindset to acquisition, working closely with our Acquisition team to build frameworks and flows.
AI-first isn't a buzzword here - it's how we expect this role to operate. You'll use AI and automation to achieve excellent results, eliminate manual work, and build a system that scales with our ambitions.
You’ll report into the Group Product Manager and work as part of the Experience team, with close links to our marketing capability in the Acquisition team. You’ll also partner with the Customer Success and Commercial teams to keep a holistic understanding of our users and clients.
Job requirements
Experience: 5+ years in email, lifecycle or CRM marketing roles.
Key skills:
Proven experience owning email strategy and execution — not just executing someone else's playbook
Hands-on experience with Braze strongly preferred; comparable platforms (Iterable, Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) welcomed
Strong campaign orchestration skills — you've built complex nurture journeys, not just batch-and-blast email
Comfort with experimentation: you know how to structure a test, read results, and act on them
Sharp analytical skills and experience analyzing channel performance reports
Other abilities & qualities:
High attention to detail and strong organizational instincts — you're the person who catches the broken link before it sends to 20k users
Bonus: email design skills (HTML or creative) a plus
Job responsibilities
Lead product vision for in-life comms: Create a strategy for what differentiates ev.energy comms and build principles to define how we approach the content, channels and frequency of comms to create a compelling customer journey.
Productise our approach: AI tools and automation are your first port of call, not an afterthought. You bring a product mindset to shape a comms system which leverages templates and automations to eradicate manual or custom work.
Partner with engineering: Work closely with our tech teams to surface the right data and trigger events needed to power the most effectively personalised and automated comms.
Deliver excellent comms: Execute research and source feedback from users, clients and internal stakeholders to identify pain points and prioritise opportunities to develop more comms. Incorporate these inputs into a comms roadmap.
Iterate on existing campaigns: Define campaign metrics, measure performance and run experiments to execute improvements to maximise open rate, click through rates, and conversion metrics.
Product marketing for comms: Act as an internal champion to enable sales and pitches of the comms product, ensuring clients and commercial folks alike understand the value proposition.
Job benefits
The salary for this role is up to £70,000.
Key benefits include:
Equity, in the form of share options (granted as a % of your salary)
PMI and cash plan medical cover (via Bupa & Medicash)
Life assurance of 3x your salary
Co-working access via WeWork (on-demand or subscription)
Annual 'Team Week' whole company offsite
L&D allowance of £1,000 per year
You can find out more about our full range of perks and benefits here.
Location & how we work
The majority of people at ev.energy work on a fully remote basis, with a small number of roles based on-site in our testing sites.
This means that most of our people work from home, but we're happy to provide co-working subscriptions if you'd like to spend time at a WeWork (or other co-working space close to you).
We balance our remote set up by getting everyone together once a year for an offsite, as we know that spending time together IRL is super important. This role is fully remote in the UK.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity: we do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability status. If you'd like a copy of our DE&I policy you can reach us at [email protected]. We'll always do our best to accommodate reasonable adjustments to the interview process if needed - just let us know.
