About the role

This is an on-site, field-based senior field service technician role for solar sites in and around Trenton, New Jersey. You will coordinate complex preventative and corrective maintenance, manage state electrical permitting, and serve as the regional safety approval authority. You work directly with management and third-party vendors while training others, and you must live within commuting distance of Trenton or relocate at your own expense before your start date.

A typical day

You drive from your home to solar sites in and around Trenton, New Jersey, arriving for a 7am or 8am start. You coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, handle state electrical permitting, and act as the regional safety approval authority with management and third-party vendors. Some Saturdays you are on call from 8am to 12pm, and overnight travel is under 10%.

Who New Energy Equity (NEE) is looking for

  • A licensed senior electrician with medium-voltage judgment. Prior solar experience is not required.
  • Already lives within commuting distance of Trenton, New Jersey, or is actively relocating there at their own expense before the start date.
  • Comfortable working outdoors on solar sites, driving from home to job sites, and working a Monday to Friday schedule of 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm.
  • Available for rotational Saturday on-call from 8am to 12pm, under 10% overnight travel, and 40 to 45 typical hours with overtime paid at 1.5x over 40.
  • Able to act as a regional safety approval authority and coordinate with management and third-party vendors.
