About the role
This is a field-based senior technician role for solar sites around El Paso, Texas. You will coordinate complex preventative and corrective maintenance, manage state electrical permitting, and act as the regional safety approval authority. You will train other technicians and work with management and third-party vendors.

You start from home and drive 30–90 minutes to a solar site near El Paso. You perform preventative or corrective maintenance, coordinate with vendors, and handle permitting or safety approvals. Some days include training other technicians or responding to on-call issues on a rotational Saturday.
Who New Energy Equity (NEE) is looking for
- A licensed electrician with medium-voltage experience and strong judgment on high-voltage systems.
- Already lives within commuting distance of El Paso, or is actively relocating there at their own expense before the start date.
- Comfortable working outdoors on solar sites, driving 30–90 minutes to job sites, and rarely traveling over 3 hours.
- Available for a Monday–Friday schedule of 7am–3pm or 8am–4pm, with rotational Saturday on-call from 8am–12pm and overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.
- Willing to train others and serve as a regional technical authority, even without prior solar experience.
