How to apply for Senior Engineer, Fullstack (Remote, US)

Renew Home

About Renew Home

Everyday Electric (formerly Renew Home) is building the largest residential virtual power plant in North America. The company partners with leading brands to manage home energy use, aiming to lower costs and increase efficiency for customers. This is a chance to work on grid-scale sustainability problems with a consumer-facing product.

About the role

As a senior fullstack engineer on the Lifecycle & Engagement team, you will own critical product experience flows end-to-end. You will build features that let customers automate energy savings, working across TypeScript/React, Python, and Nx. Your work directly shapes how users interact with the virtual power plant.

A typical day

A typical day might involve writing frontend code in React, building backend services in Python, and reviewing designs with product and analytics. You could also spend time debugging production issues or planning new features for energy automation. Since the role is remote, you would coordinate with your team through video calls and written updates.

Who Renew Home is looking for

  • 5+ years of fullstack experience with TypeScript/React on the frontend and Python on the backend.
  • Proven ability to serve as technical owner of complex product flows, from design to production support.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including product, analytics, and engineering.
  • Experience with monorepo tooling like Nx and building consumer-facing platforms.

Tips for this application

  • Highlight any past work on consumer-facing platforms or energy management systems, even if not directly in the energy sector.
  • Mention specific projects where you owned a critical product flow end-to-end, including metrics or outcomes.
  • Show familiarity with the company's mission by referencing the virtual power plant concept in your application.
  • Use the exact job title 'Senior Engineer, Fullstack' in your subject line or application form if possible.
  • If you have experience with Nx or monorepos, call it out explicitly—it is listed in the stack.

What to cover in your cover letter

['Your experience building and owning fullstack features that directly impact user engagement.', 'Concrete examples of working with TypeScript/React, Python, and Nx in a production environment.', 'How you have collaborated with product and analytics teams to ship features.', 'Your interest in residential energy management and virtual power plants.']
