Mission

What you will drive

  • Serve as the primary engineer on Ask Aya, leading iterations, feature development, and integrations for the AI-powered assistant.
  • Own the full LLM application stack including prompt design, retrieval, evaluation, safety, and analytics pipelines.
  • Contribute as a senior engineer on the Membership Center platform, building integrations with NDWA's organizing stack.
  • Establish patterns for AI-assisted engineering practice and mentor junior engineers.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • 7+ years of senior-level engineering experience building and shipping production web/product software.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping LLM-powered features in production.
  • Strong full-stack fundamentals: TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React/Next.js, REST/GraphQL, SQL.
  • Experience with AWS, CI/CD, data pipelines, and privacy-preserving data architecture.

Benefits

What's in it for you

Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 per year. Remote work. Temporary-to-hire position with possibility to convert to permanent. NDWA is a union employer; this is a senior management position. Equal opportunity employer.
