Senior Cross-Cutting Researcher

• Shape and execute research on hard questions including moral weights, burden of disease, and uncertainty quantification.
• Conduct verification studies and lookbacks to assess whether grants achieved outcomes and identify systematic model failures.
• Collaborate across all teams to spot inconsistencies in funding decisions and serve as an internal check on reasoning.
• Develop tools and processes enabling faster research without sacrificing rigour.

This role ensures that GiveWell's funding decisions are based on rigorous evidence, maximizing the impact of donations on global health and poverty alleviation.

• Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in quantitative methods.
• Ability to tackle complex, cross-cutting methodological questions.
• Experience in verification studies, impact evaluation, or similar.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
