Senior Android Engineer

• Own the development and continuous improvement of Via's rider Android app, building new features across booking, account management, and the core rider journey.
• Architect and evolve mobile infrastructure services, making decisions about app architecture, performance optimization, and memory management.
• Diagnose and resolve critical production issues under pressure to minimize disruption to riders.
• Mentor and guide engineers on the team, sharing expertise in Android development and reviewing code thoughtfully.

• 5+ years of hands-on Android development experience with deep proficiency in Kotlin and strong knowledge of the Android application lifecycle.
• Strong grasp of Android app architecture patterns, Jetpack Compose, and RESTful APIs; expertise in performance optimization, memory management, and debugging.
• Knowledge of concurrent programming using Kotlin Coroutines or RxJava.
• Experienced with Android frameworks including Location Services and Google Maps API, and familiar with third-party mapping tools such as Mapbox.
